My husband and I couldn’t have been happier with Jim as our officiant. He provided the personal touches that made our special day memorable and stress free. The ceremony was short, touching and humorous and a number of our guests commented how wonderful they thought Jim was. From day 1, Jim guided us through the process and answered every single question - through phone, email and in person! We would fully recommend him to friends and family.

Despite the super-short notice we gave Jim he was happy to conduct our wedding, and he didn't just conduct it, rather he made it into an unforgettable amazing ceremony! His demeanor was fantastic and it was a pleasure speaking to him! Everyone that was there later commented on how great Jim was, and that says it all really! My wife and I both were incredibly happy that we found Jim and he made our special day just that much more special. I can but say, if you are looking for an amazing officiant, go with Jim, you will definitely not regret it!

My husband and I wanted a non-religious, short and sweet ceremony and we got exactly that. We had the opportunity to pre-approve what would be said during the ceremony and we didn't change one word, as it all seemed to fit us just perfectly. He made our guests laugh and he made our guests cry with the beautiful words that he had written. We were absolutely thrilled with how our ceremony went!
P.S. He even nodded at us during the ceremony when it was our turn to speak so that we wouldn't miss a beat!

Jim was fantastic when it came to everything regarding the ceremony. My now Husband was very adamant about choosing the officiant who was right for us and upon first meeting Jim and talking for a short time, my husband looked at me and gave a huge nod. Jim is so welcoming and warm and by talking to him a person can tell how much he enjoys making/customizing a couple's ceremony to their wants. Not only was Jim great to deal with before the ceremony, he did an amazing job during the ceremony. He spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear (an outdoor ceremony is sometimes hard to hear), he lightened the mood with a few tasteful little jokes, he included all the little adjustments we asked for, and arranged us at the front for the best picture opportunities. I would recommend Jim to anyone.

We were very lucky to book Jim because it was at the last minute (much like the whole wedding, due to my father's illness). He was extremely accommodating, even when it came to working with my and my husband's hectic schedules. We went over everything together and he is detailed, professional and extremely helpful. I am Jewish and my husband is not, so when it came to incorporating select customs into the ceremony, Jim was extremely informative and helpful. He had explanations for our friends and family about the customs that made the whole ceremony more inviting. I especially loved the way he directed my nervous husband to shake my parents' hands when we all met at the altar. I received many compliments about the ceremony and the way that Jim was able to keep everything organized. He really took the lead and guided us through the whole process. Thank you Jim! I would recommend you to any couple!

Jim recently officiated our wedding in July 6, 2013. When we first met with Jim he was extremely helpful in helping us navigate the wedding ceremony as we really had no idea where to begin! Jim was able to provide some great and useful suggestions as well as catering a ceremony to our personalities and needs as a couple. I am so glad that my husband and I chose to go with Jim as our officiant. He made our planning process much easier and less stressful. He was extremely helpful with getting everything we needed together. Our wedding went very smoothly and Jim was so natural through the whole ceremony. Jim is a family friend of my husband's, and an excellent officiant. He was prepared for each meeting we had with him and had an outline of his usual ceremony, but was flexible with incorporating our ideas and requests. Jim responds very quickly to emails which made it easy to change our minds and change them back whenever we had a new idea. During the ceremony, his voice projected enough so that our guests could hear him without a microphone (which is his style). I highly recommend Jim as an officiant.

He went through the process with us, step by step, breaking down all the "to do"s with us, and even assigning who was responsible for each task, which was extremely helpful and took out all the guesswork, and stress! :o) That in itself is priceless, as most brides and grooms could imagine!

Jim was one of the easiest services to book in the madness of wedding preparations. He met with us and went through everything we needed to know. Closer to the date he followed up with us to ensure we knew he was going to attend. On our wedding day he's performance was very professional. His voice was very calming and relaxing. Jim was the officiant at our wedding at Nottawasaga inn in Alliston, Ontario. We met with him a year before our wedding and he was very professional and gave us all the information we needed. Our ceremony was very short and sweet which we liked. Jim was very accommodating during the ceremony. For example he would nod when it was our turn to speak and gave us lots of time to respond. We we're very pleased with his services and would definitely recommend him to a friend.

We met with Jim in his home in Newmarket, and he was the only officiant we met with, we liked him right away.
Jim had a pre-designed ceremony for religious or non-religious - and for our non-religious ceremony, we liked his take. We were allowed to make revisions, which we did, minimally, but overall we liked his direct and friendly style. His ceremony includes things like 'you're never too old to hold hands'.
We also added the option to include our own vows, no problem.
On our wedding day, we had no surprises with Jim. He read exactly what he told us he would read, he was very in control and loud enough (outdoor wedding), and was easy to follow. He gave us time to get ready before he began, and paused for natural moments like when I gave my Dad an extra hug and when we were reading our vows. He didn't rush, and he kept in control of the pace.
He told us, don't worry, you just show up and I'll do the rest - and he did. He didn't let us forget a thing, he really led us through it calmly and supportively, and he smiled at us through the whole thing.
Very happy with Jim.

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better officiant. My husband is of Jewish faith and I am of Catholic faith, Jim was able to capture the spirit of both faiths as well as the meaning of marriage during our ceremony. Our guests which would typically attend a ceremony at a church or synagogue continuously comment to this day on the ability of Jim to bring everything together and how much meaning he gave to the ceremony.

Mr. Murphy acted as the officiant for my wife and I and we were quite pleased to have him as part of our special day. Both our families thought that Jim's idea to have us face THEM instead of them looking at the back of our heads was particularly well received by everyone.
He listened to our ideas and had a few of his own to offer, and I think the ceremony as a whole was better because of it. Some gentle and well-timed humour certainly didn't hurt either.
All in all, we were both very happy that Jim was a part of our day and would recommend his to anyone looking for a great officiant/marriage officer.

We wanted a non-religious ceremony and wanted it to be short and sweet and Jim was excellent! He had a pre-written ceremony for my fiance and I to review and accepted any edits we made. His service was perfect - he stood to the side with his back to our guests so we were facing either or guests or each other during the ceremony (our photographer loved it!). It was sweet, romantic and funny - just as we wanted it to be!

Jim was our officiant at our wedding at the Nottawasaga Resort in Alliston. We met with him 3 weeks prior to our wedding to discuss ceremony options.
My husband was raised Catholic but had not been to a catholic service in YEARS. I was even more removed from organized religion. We both knew we wanted a ceremony that would incorporate all our love and commitment, without the "traditional" religious ceremony that normally accompanied most weddings we had attended.
As soon as we met with Jim, we KNEW he was the right officiant for us. He invited us into his home, and proceeded to go over all the options available to us. After a discussion, he looked at us with a twinkle in his eye and said "I think I have the PERFECT ceremony for you, its called the 'short and sweet' option". He was 100% correct. It was the perfect option for us!
I would not hesitate to recommend Jim for a second. He is personable, attentive, and most importantly, LISTENS to what you and your partner want.

We first met Jim in his home and very quickly knew he would be a perfect fit for our special day. Jim provided us with a basic script that he would use during the ceremony. Once Jim got an idea of the type of ceremony we were wanting, together we sat in his living room and made a few small changes to the script. We liked knowing exactly what Jim was going to say and that our guests wouldn't be bored or sitting for too long. One of my favourite things he did was have his back to the guests so that your family and friends focused on you the bride and groom and not the back of your heads!! My husband and I were most impressed with Jim Murphy's warmth, helpfulness and professionalism. We live in Québec City and could not make it to Caledon where the wedding was taking place till a few days before the wedding. Jim rearranged his schedule at the last minute to meet with us to go over the ceremony details. After he explained our role and his in the ceremony, we felt confident that he was the ideal officiant. We were grateful that he was able to perform the ceremony in English and French since half my relatives and friends and all my husbands' friends are French speaking. Our ceremony was to start at 11:30 a.m and it started precisely at 11:30 a.m! He spoke eloquently during the ceremony and beautifully handled my outburst of emotional tears in the middle of our vows like the professional he is! My husband would like to renew our vows in the not too distant future. We wouldn't hesitate to ask Jim if he would do us the honour of performing the ceremony .

We met with Jim in his home in Newmarket, and he was the only officiant we met with, we liked him right away.
Jim had a pre-designed ceremony for religious or non-religious - and for our non-religious ceremony, we liked his take. We were allowed to make revisions, which we did, minimally, but overall we liked his direct and friendly style. His ceremony includes things like 'you're never too old to hold hands'.
We also added the option to include our own vows, no problem.
On our wedding day, we had no surprises with Jim. He read exactly what he told us he would read, he was very in control and loud enough (outdoor wedding), and was easy to follow. He gave us time to get ready before he began, and paused for natural moments like when I gave my Dad an extra hug and when we were reading our vows. He didn't rush, and he kept in control of the pace.
He told us, don't worry, you just show up and I'll do the rest - and he did. He didn't let us forget a thing, he really led us through it calmly and supportively, and he smiled at us through the whole thing.
Very happy with Jim.
